A romantic day in Singapore starts with breakfast in a lush garden, continues with a lunch of aphrodisiac foods and a loving massage and ends with sky high cocktais.

Think of Singapore and the image that comes to mind is of a clean, efficient and orderly city-state where commerce rules, public displays of affection are actively discouraged and the dollar is king. While this may have been so in the past Singapore is showing its softer face welcoming lovers of all ages. This is how to enjoy a romantic day in Singapore.

Morning

What could be more romantic than enjoying breakfast in a tropical arboretum? Set amongst groves of centuries old palms the Halia Restaurant (halia is Malay for ginger) overlooks the Ginger Gardens of the Singapore Botanical Gardens it is a cosy, tranquil retreat almost created for the truly romantic couple. Enjoy the meal while marvelling at the spectacle of 250 varieties of vibrantly coloured ginger plants and their flowers.

In the floral lexicon orchids are the symbol of everlasting love. After breakfast share each others love with a stroll around the National Orchid Garden and revel in the ever-lasting love that surrounds you in this Garden of Eden. Located at the highest hill this Garden has stunning views of the rest of the site.

If you are a little more adventurous then the two of you can dive with dugongs - the mermaids of old. These are friendly playful animals and you will have a fun time exploring their world.
